Perabell Food Bar: The Best Burger in Long Island
The Battle for Long Island’s best burger starts at Perabell Food Bar located on Main Street right across from the library in downtown Patchogue. Recently selected as one of the 50 best burgers on Long Island, the voting for the Battle of the Burger just ended, and Perabell’s immaculate creation was declared the winner. The delicious and massive 10oz patty of Angus beef, covered in melted cheese, caramelized Vidalia onions, smoky bacon, served with a loose pile of fries, and coleslaw looks like something Shrek would have trouble eating. It can only be described as the tastiest organized chaos on a bun.
But Perabell Food Bar is much more than a must have burger stop. With a substantial and lengthy bar with several imported and domestic artisanal beers on tap, events like Casino Night, and weekly NFL game screenings, it’s also a place where the many diversified elements of Patchogue go for a fair taste of the local culture. Customers visit Perabell for their delectable menu, and even more so, their friendly and impeccable service. Just briefly browsing through their Yelp reviews you get a sense of the impeccable staff at Parable.
The food at the eatery is described as a New American but pulls from cultures all across the globe. From Mediterranean to Italian, to seafood and bar sandwiches, Chef/Owner John Peragine offers a menu that would satisfy almost any palate. While all the food at Perabell is worth the trip leaving the food bar without at least trying the monstrous hamburger is like going to see a 3-D movie in dark sunglasses.
