Time for Thai

Sometimes a craving for something special takes over and while burgers, pizza, and pasta are all wonderful choices, deep down inside, we may want to go for something a tad more exotic. Thai food is almost always in demand. That’s because most of us wouldn’t say “no” to some delicious coconut shrimp, aromatic yellow curry, and delicate Pad Tai. So when the mood is right and the tummy is rumbling, check out the finger licking cuisine options served up at Thai Angel.

Valentine's Day Ideas For Everyone in Patchogue

In a week, we get to celebrate love. Now, just to be clear, Valentine’s Day isn’t about romantic love alone. It’s about the love you can have for anyone you deem worthy, such as your pets, friends, and, of course, family! It’s important to remind people of this fact, so that they don’t miss out on a beautiful day full of sincere sentiments.

A celebration of love can be a big or small affair, so naturally, it all depends on how you roll. While it’s perfectly cool to stay in for the holiday - after all, the coziness of home always a makes it a nice place to mark a special occasion – it’s also pretty sweet to get a little dressed up and celebrate in style. If the latter option is more of what you were thinking, you should definitely check out Le Soir.

“Honey House” Poker Pub Crawl for a Good Cause

Image: Facebook
You’ve probably heard the news, got very sad about it, and then moved on. We’re talking about SantaCon and its sudden cancellation late last year. Now, all those who want to do a socially acceptable pub crawl will have to wait until St. Patrick’s Day... or do they? Rejoice casual drinkers on the prowl for a good time! There is something better and it’s called the “Honey House” Poker Pub Crawl right here in Patchogue.

What makes this event so special?

And no one is able to distill the photographic life of Patchogue, Long Island like KLD Photography on Main Street.

Skate out of Patchogue to The Rinx!

Winter is indeed coming, and not just on Game of Thrones. As the leaves begin to wilt and the temperatures start to dwindle (however slowly), the coldest season of the year is steadily headed our way, but what does that mean for you and your family? Well, it means you can finally dust off those skates of yours and put them to good use.

Happy Antique Hunting in Patchogue!

Let’s face it, moving into a new luxurious apartment is a life changing experience, it actually feels kind of epic. Why? Because a new apartment is usually synonymous with a new beginning, and a new beginning usually requires some redecorating. Now, New Village is a pretty hooked up space. It features a gorgeous pool, plenty of social recreation areas and a fitness center; so when it comes to apartment decorating, most residents can skip a home fitness center, unless of course they are plagued by some type of public workout phobia, and shelling out bucks for a super swanky kitchen is pretty much unnecessary.

Trading Coffees and Teas

Beware: customers of the Roast Coffee and Tea Trading Company on Main Street in Patchogue could ingest enough caffeine at the shop to allow them to run to New York City and back in less than an hour. Some would call that a superhero-like ability, employees at Roast Coffee would call that a typical Monday. The quaint and easily navigable coffee shop (located less than 10 minutes away from New Village apartments) is a microroaster that uses mostly premium single origin beans from several countries.

Enjoy a Scenic Dining at Lombardi’s on the Bay!

Don’t worry, the birds that you’re eating are not the ones you see out the window. If you ever ask yourself, “Can I get some ocean with my food?” Lombardi’s on the Bay is great restaurant for you. In fact, the Patchogue eatery was the winner of the “Restaurant with the Best View” by Long Island Restaurant News. Visit Lombardi’s around sunset and if you’re not careful you’ll confuse the sparkle from your presco with the beautiful reflection from the nearby ocean gleam.

Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center Has It All

With movie screenings, film, acting and screen writing classes, guest speakers, ballet and opera concerts, the only thing you can’t do at the Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center in Patchogue, is play mini-golf or maybe pet some wild animals. The all-purpose, all-encompassing Center was co-founded by Catherine Oberg and Campbell Dalglish two filmmakers from New York City, and the 65-seat Plaza Cinema was constructed in one of the spaces of the ArtSpace building on Terry Street in the fall of 2011. Perabell Food Bar: The Best Burger in Long Island

The Battle for Long Island’s best burger starts at Perabell Food Bar located on Main Street right across from the library in downtown Patchogue. Recently selected as one of the 50 best burgers on Long Island, the voting for the Battle of the Burger just ended, and Perabell’s immaculate creation was declared the winner. The delicious and massive 10oz patty of Angus beef, covered in melted cheese, caramelized Vidalia onions, smoky bacon, served with a loose pile of fries, and coleslaw looks like something Shrek would have trouble eating. It can only be described as the tastiest organized chaos on a bun.

Queen City Cupcakes, A Patchogue Staple

The Royal Baby has a place to eat cupcakes in Long Island. Billed as the original Patchogue’s cupcake shop, Queen City Cupcakes offer a delicious assortment of cakes, coffee, teas, pies and of course mouth-watering cupcakes. Back in the late 19th Century, the town of Patchogue used to be known as Queen City, and that is where owner and operator of the shop, Carol Reitz-Butler, derived the name store. As a resident of East Patchogue, Butler opened the eatery in September of 2011 and is located on Main Street, across from the BrickHouse Brewery and only a couple blocks away from New Village.

For the aspiring and successful artist, dreams can come true on Main Street. Located in downtown Patchogue and only a block away from the New Village apartments, the not-for-profit Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is a cavalcade of artistic expression for local and traveling performers. The façade of the building looks both historic and modern, and harkens back to the earlier days of localized community art houses. It is a perfect place for a date night or for anyone looking to catch a glimpse of the native artistic culture.
