The Royal Baby has a place to eat cupcakes in Long Island. Billed as the original Patchogue’s cupcake shop,
Queen City Cupcakes offer a delicious assortment of cakes, coffee, teas, pies and of course mouth-watering cupcakes. Back in the late 19th Century, the town of Patchogue used to be known as Queen City, and that is where owner and operator of the shop, Carol Reitz-Butler, derived the name store. As a resident of East Patchogue, Butler opened the eatery in September of 2011 and is located on Main Street, across from the BrickHouse Brewery and only a couple blocks away from
New Village.
With cozy circular tables, delicate wall decorations and majestic lighting the space of Queen City Cupcakes has a charming and regal Victorian feel. Enjoying a cupcake at Queen City feels like eating dessert in a sugar-addict King’s bedroom. Their cupcake offerings vary all the time, and are made with real buttercream. Carol Reitz-Butler and the staff at Queen City stresses using only the finest natural ingredients, and veers away from putting any dyes in their dessert treats.
Every week this summer Queen City has featured “Cupcake and a Movie” where people can enjoy a movie and get a sweet sweet sugar rush. Some movies they have shown in past including Wes Anderson’s
Rushmore, and
The Royal Tenenbaums, and the last showing will be August 28th. The shop also offers exquisite coffee and teas as a compliment to their tasty baked goods. Try their warming and fall ready pumpkin spice latte. The store is also a gift shop and sells items for home decoration. Or if you don’t feel like purchasing any of their gifts, you can always just hang some cupcakes of your walls.
