With Thanksgiving only a few weeks away, the town of
Patchogue us gearing up with plenty of holiday-focused events taking place over
the month. From holiday food drives to holiday parades, there are a number of
festive events taking place right outside your door at the New Village.
Thanksgiving Food Drive – JVC Broadcasting is bringing back
it’s annual “Food Fight Against Hunger” to the local Patchogue community on
Saturday, November 17th and Sunday, November 18th. JVC
Broadcasting, which operates five local radio stations - Party 105, My Country
96.1, La Fiesta 98.5, LI News Radio 103.9 and Oldies 98.1 — all duke it out to
see who can collect the most donations. The drive will take place each day from
10am – 6pm at Patchogue’s ShopRite at 95 North Service Road. The drive seeks
non-perishable items, frozen turkeys, and $10 gift cards to local supermarkets.
The donations will benefit the Town of Brookhaven’s INTERFACE Program, which
supports less fortunate town residents.
Christmas Holiday Boat Parade – Patchogue’s annual Christmas
Holiday Boat Parade is returning to town Sunday, November 18th on
the Patchogue River. It’s estimated that 5,000 people will make their way to
the waterfront to see over 30 boats decked out for the holiday season! This
year’s theme is “A Cartoon Christmas”. To make a night of it, stop by one of
the waterfront restaurants to have dinner with a view! The parade will start at
6pm and run until 9pm.
Patchogue Christmas Parade – The Village of Patchogue
Christmas Parade will take place Saturday, November 24th after
Thanksgiving at 6pm on Main Street. The theme this year is “Christmas at the
Movies”. In sticking with the holiday tradition to host the event the Saturday
after Thanksgiving, the parade returns for it’s 56th year to
downtown Patchogue. Enjoy marching bands, carolers in costumer, twirlers, fire
trucks, floats, and of course, Christmas music.
