Kick off the Fall season in Patchogue by attending one or
many of the food festivals taking place this month! Whether oysters, seafood,
or chili is your thing, there’s an event taking place near The New Village this
month that you won’t want to miss.
Oyster Festival – The 35th annual Oyster Festival
of Oyster Bay is taking place this Saturday October 13th – Sunday
October 14th at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park. Though it’s
about a 40-minute drive from Patchogue, this festival is a long-running staple
for all Long Islanders that won ‘t disappoint! Stop in at the historic downtown
area of Oyster Bay to enjoy fresh seafood, soups and chowders, carnival fare,
and of course, oysters. There will also be carnival rides, live music and
plenty of shopping. Afterwards you can take a stroll along the waterfront to
take in the beautiful views of the Long Island Sound.
Patchogue’s Fall Festival – You don’t have to venture very far from
the New Village to take part in fun fall festivities! On Saturday October 13th,
the town of Patchogue is hosting it’s annual Fall Festival right on Main Street
in town. The 5th annual Chili and Chowder Tasting Contest will take
place in conjunction with the festival. Tasting tickets are $10 and will be
sold at the Chamber of Commerce booth at the event; chowder-tasting tickets are
sold from 12pm – 2pm, and chili-tasting from 2pm – 4pm.
Four Course Blue Point Pairing Dinner at The
Oar - Looking for something
different than your traditional dinner out? On Thursday, October 25th,
The Oar is hosting a Blue Point pairing dinner from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. The four
course meal features delicious plates such as pork belly with caramelized
onions, fried goat cheese over arugula, short rib with white cheddar polenta
and a salted caramel and chocolate trifle, all paired with accompanying Blue
Point brews. Tickets are $40 a person. Please see the link below for more
