Memorial Day is this weekend, which means it’s the
unofficial start of summer! If you’re still not sure how you’ll be spending the
weekend, we can give you a few ideas.
Hit the Beach
Break out the sunglasses and sunscreen because this
weekend’s weather forecast is looking pretty promising! With temperatures in
the low 80s, it’s safe to say that beach season is underway. If you haven’t yet
already, it’s the perfect time to check out Patchogue’s nearby beaches. Head to
Ocean Beach in Fire Island to enjoy the sand and surf while also exploring all
the shops and restaurants along the boardwalk. If you’re looking for something
a little more low key, you can also head to Coreys Creek Park in Blue Point to
enjoy some time outside by the bay.
Celebrate the Long Weekend
Celebrate the weekend with friends at some MDW Parties that
will be taking place in the area. The View in Oakdale will be hosting a
Memorial Day Party all weekend long, with live music to enjoy while overlooking
the beautiful views of the Great South Bay. The Dublin Deck in Patchogue will
also be hosting a celebration on Sunday, May 29th. Arrive early to enjoy the 70
ft. Day Brunch, complete with live music from 4pm-8pm.
Commemorate the Holiday
Memorial Day isn’t just about savoring the long weekend-
it’s also about honoring the men and women who have gave their lives while
serving in our armed forces. To celebrate the holiday, check out Blue Point’s
Memorial Day Parade that will take place Monday at 11am on the corner of Blue
Point Avenue and Middle Road, which will be sponsored by the Blue Point Fire
Department.
