Get in Shape for the New Year

The holidays are over and so is your waistline. Chances are during the holidays you feasted like a medieval king with no consequences, cookies, pies, cakes, eggnog, turkey, chicken stuffed in a turkey, stuffing stuffed into a chicken stuffed into a turkey, but now you are reaping the fatty ramifications of your extraordinary food binge. If getting up every morning feels like hiking the Appalachian Trail, then it’s time to hit the gym.
Do not despair.  Patchogue features a variety of user-friendly gyms that will get you looking like an US Weekly cover in no time.  Most of the comprehensive gyms are all located within a very short distance of the elegant New Village apartments.

L.A. Fitness is on 5 Gateway Boulevard in Patchogue and is only $39 dollars a month. There is a $99 initiation fee, but the cost is worth it especially if your stomach is starting to look like a pile of marshmallows. There is no long term commitment required at the gym and each membership comes with an extensive list of amenities. L.A. Fitness has every thing from a juice bar, a basketball court, personal training session, a sauna, to a vast and relaxing pool.

At Finest Fitness on 208 East Main Street, members also enjoy a variety of class options as well as high tech workout equipment. On the west side of Main Street, check out Ultimate Fitness Patchogue another multifaceted gym facility great for any one looking to get in shape.

Calling itself the ”Friendliest Gym in Patchogue,” Mr. D’s Ultimate Fitness on 225 Main Street is a neighborhood favorite. Classes range from yoga, Zumba, Pilates, cycling and an ultimate abs workout. The gym is open from Monday to Sunday and a year membership is only $29 a month. So for the price of a tub of movie popcorn you can swim in, you can get in shape and look better than Matthew McConaughey.
