The holiday season is upon us with Thanksgiving only days
away! If you will be staying local near the New Village for the holiday, check
out some of the activities taking place in the greater Patchogue area below.
Thanksgiving Eve at Harbor Crab – If you’ll be going out for
Thanksgiving Eve, consider stopping by Harbor Crab located right on Division
Street, about a 10-minute walk from the New Village. The party will kick off at
4pm and will continue through the night! Happy hour specials run from 4pm – 7pm
with half price drinks, and the DJ set will begin at 8pm. Arrive before 9pm to
avoid paying cover.
Friendsgiving on Thanksgiving Eve –If you’d rather avoid the
crowds on Thanksgiving Eve, consider hosting Friendsgiving for your crew!
Rather than cooking for the whole crowd, consider hosting a potluck dinner
where everyone brings their holiday specialty, or get some Thanksgiving take
out! Associates Gourmet Market of Medford offers delicious homemade holiday
dishes, such as roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and much more.
11th Annual Smiles Turkey Trot – If you’re
motivated to work out before enjoying your Thanksgiving meal, consider taking
part in the greater Patchogue’s area Smiles Turkey Trot, a 5K Fun Run to
benefit the Smiles Change Lives organization. Started in 2008 by local
orthodontist and runner, Dr. Frank R. Egan, Smiles Change Lives provides
life-changing, essential orthodontic treatments for children from low-income
families. The Fun Run will start at 9am on Middle Road at Barteau Avenue.
