There’s
something about the holiday season that makes your feel fortunate for what you
have, but also puts you in the spirit of giving for those who may be less
fortunate. If you’d like to give back this holiday season, there are plenty of
charitable events happening in the Patchogue area over the next few weeks.

Harmony
Café Holiday Luncheon – This holiday season, donate your time to volunteer at
Harmony Café 2nd Annual Holiday Luncheon. The Luncheon will be
hosted at Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Patchogue on Wednesday, December 13th
from 12pm-2:30pm. Volunteers will work alongside Chef Maria Mcgiff to cook and
prepare food for attendees, who participate in the pay-what-you can luncheon.
There will be live holiday music, as well as a toy and gently used winter wear

Ronald McDonald
House Collection at George Martin’s- From December 10 though December 21,
George Martin’s Strip Steak Restaurant in Great River is hosting a toy collection
for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. A “Giving Tree” full of ornaments
that list items to purchase and donate is set inside the restaurant. Those
interested in donating should visit and select an ornament from the tree. All
toys must be dropped off to George Martin’s Strip Steak by Thursday, December
21st and should be unwrapped or wrapped in clear cellophane.
Toys
for Tots Donations- Founded by the U.S. Marine Corps in 1991 as a 501 (c)(3)
non-profit charity, Toys for Tots is a program that distributes toys as
Christmas gifts to less fortunate children. Although Toys for Tots is a
nationally recognized organization, the charitable giving has local impact as
the collected toys are distributed in the community where the campaign is
conducted. This holiday season, it’s easy to donate toys with the help of Toys
for Tots sponsors, Toys R Us, who is accepting toy donations on behalf of the
