Celebrating Halloween on Long Island

Get out your candy and costumes because the Halloween season is back in Patchogue. Make the most of the spooky holiday by visiting some of the Halloween-inspired activities taking place near the New Village below.

Masquerade Ball at the Long Island Aquarium- Grab your costume and mask as the annual Masquerade Ball returns to the Long Island Aquarium on Friday, October 27th.  Celebrate the night in mystery with an open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, dinner buffet, music, and entertainment. RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns   Head west to Old Westbury to experience the special jack-o-lantern exhibit that is RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns. Returning to Long Island for it’s sixth year, this exhibit celebrates the ghoulish season with over 5,000 intricately hand-carved pumpkins, arranged along a scenic walking path set to a themed musical score. If you’re interested in attending, be sure to purchase tickets in advance as this event takes place for a limited time through October 30th.

Yaphank Trail of Terror- If you’re one who likes to partake in scary activities for Halloween, you’ll want to check out Yaphank’s Trail of Terror. The trail takes you on a 20-minute walk through the woods and comes across a number of terrifying scenes and scary characters. The trail is open Friday and Saturday Nights from Friday, October 13 through Saturday, October 28th. For more information, check out the link below.
