Giving Back this November

Although Thanksgiving may still be two weeks away, it’s the perfect time to get involved and give back this holiday season. From contributing in food drives, to delivering fresh meals to the elderly, there’s plenty of opportunities to get involved with a great cause.

Island Harvest

As the largest hunger relief organization on Long Island, Island Harvest is seeking help this holiday season from November 1 through December 30, which is the busiest time of the year for the organization.  There will be multiple events happening over the course of the season to help families in the local area. Join them at their next event, the 8th Annual Turkey Drive, taking place Friday, November 18th at the Bethpage Federal Credit Union in Bethpage. To learn more about getting involved with the organization, submit this volunteer form to give back to your local community.

Lighthouse Mission

Lighthouse Mission is Long Island’s largest and oldest “Mobile Food Pantry”, serving more than 2,000 struggling Long Islanders across nine communities each week. This holiday season, Lighthouse Mission will be actively organizing mobile food outreaches, which bring fresh produce, canned goods, bread, and more directly to those in need.  To learn more about volunteering with the mobile outreaches or mission food drives, please fill out the form here.

Patchogue Neighbors Inn

This holiday season, the Patchogue Neighbors Inn Soup Kitchen is looking for volunteers to help prepare and distribute food to those in need. To learn more about The Inn’s community outreach and soup kitchen sites and to learn more volunteering, click here.
