As Patchogue residents are gearing up for October, Halloween
and all the fun fall events that come with it, one Long Island event is a stand
out and is sure to excite our residents here at New Village of Patchogue. RISE of the Jack
O’Lanterns will be returning for its
annual October show and this time Old Westbury is the chosen
location for the show's New York event. RISE of the Jack
O’Lanterns
features thousands of pumpkins set up throughout a trail which will take guests
about 45-60 minutes to walk through. As visitors make their way through the
show, they will see over the top stunning arrangements of lighted pumpkins.
Showing at Old Westbury Garden this
spectacular performance attracts thousands of local Long Island residents and people
from several surrounding New York areas. Only a half hour away from New Village,
RISE of the Jack O’Lanterns is a must
see fall show you will want to be a part of!
The display is a themed pumpkin light show with its main focus
being on Halloween and features many sub themes that branch out and go way
beyond the typical Halloween trends of witches, ghosts and vampires. In
the past there have been sub themes of Disney characters, New York landmarks,
world and pop culture figures, New York artistry, skeletons, cars, animals and many
more! As visitors walk through the site they will hear an originally composed
soundtrack made special for RISE of the
Jack O’Lanterns.
To put on this illuminating show it takes over 5,000
individual pumpkins and preparations that start immediately following the
ending of the previous year’s show. Around 30 artists from the local area are
recruited to carve these masterpiece pumpkins.
This fall extravaganza will run all through the month of
October. For the first two weeks The Rise is open from Friday-Sunday with
sessions running from 6:30-9:30 pm, and the reminder of the month tickets are
available Thursday-Sunday. You can purchase tickets and view the list of
available dates and times here.
More information about the event can also be found by visiting their Facebook page or the
historic Hudson Valley website.
Just wanted to say Hello.
ReplyDeleteThe executive chef here was a genuinely nice person and never made us feel like we were just "business" for him. He was extremely competent and organized. Because of the natural beauty of the best sports bar nyc, we were able to get away with very minimal decorations.
