While most know Suffolk county for our beaches and quaint communities, we know best our county's real hidden treasure is our wine. With summer almost in full swing, there's a whole new crop of vineyards to visit and wines to taste this season.
Wölffer Estate Vineyard
is releasing a new vintage of their extremely popular rosé, Summer in a
Bottle. This beautiful rosé is a homage to summertime in the Hamptons
and evokes the East End’s sunsets, tinged with pink and copper. Aromas
of ripe local fruit—cantaloupe, strawberry and peach—fill the glass and
the wine is textured with vibrant, tropical flavors like honeydew melon.
Following the success of Summer in a Bottle, Wölffer Estate has just
released Summer in a Bottle White. This wine has the color of sunshine
and gives juicy aromas of summer fruits such as peach, apricot and
cantaloupe, along with honeysuckle and freshly cut hay.
At Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard
in Peconic, you have the opportunity to be a winemaker for a day. On
select dates throughout the summer, attend a VIP blending session to
learn about life as a vintner and to blend a custom bottle of wine. The
vineyard’s historic barn and tasting room also has six new varietals and
labels for you to taste this summer.
Enjoy live music every Sunday at Raphael Vineyard as you taste one of their four new wines. Raphael Vineyard is also releasing two new vintages this summer.
