Recently a report was written about the New Village of Patchogue and our innovative combintion of workforce housing combined with elegant living. The writers of the report, MyLITV ended up winning an award at the 2015 FOLIO awards! Check out the article below announcing the reward and the video that shows their winning segment.

Robert Loscalzo, CEO TRITEC Real Estate Company, Waldo Cabrera, MyLITV and Dorothy Stallone, Property Manager

"An innovated report about a housing-innovation in Patchogue was among the winners of a FOLIO Award at year’s Fair Media Council event. The MyLITV presentation welcomed viewers into the new apartments at New Village, and made effective use of graphics to illustrate how working people may qualify for elegant new digs.

Robert Loscalzo, C.E.O. of TRITECH Real Estate explained why the Village of Patchogue is an ideal site for New Village, and discusses the challenges of bringing rental housing to Long Island, where rental properties make up 17 percent of our housing stock, compared to the national average of 35 percent.
“These projects are happening in other parts of the country, but they weren’t happening here,” said Loscalzo.  He makes special note of the LIRR Patchogue station, just 1,500 feet away.

The report acknowledged changing attitudes about workforce housing on Long Island, and helped viewers understand the ratio of affordable units available for a mix of income-levels at New Village.

Video Journalist Waldo Cabrera brought his camera inside the new homes to show the layout, designs and amenities available for the new residents at New Village, including images of the adjacent theater and restaurants.

“It’s a place where you can hang out, meet new people, or just people-watch,” said Loscalzo.

My Long Island TV won four 2015 Folio Awards. Winning topics included Housing, for Cabrera’s look at affordable housing at New Village; Education, for a report about using fairground thrill rides to teach kids about physics; Science, for a report about efforts to battle recurring cancers; and Entertainment, for a conversation featuring history-making television producer Norman Lear."
