Theatre and Performing Arts on Long Island


Next time you’re looking to see a play or musical, skip the trip into the city and check out one of the many theatres in the greater Patchogue area. Many performing arts venues near The New Village host Broadway favorites, even Tony-nominated programs! Take a look below to see what performances are taking place.

ONCE, John W. Engeman Theater in Northport – You don’t have travel into the city “ONCE”, winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Playing at the John W. Engeman Theater in Northport village, ONCE tells the captivating tale of a Dublin street musician who’s about to give up on his dream when a beautiful young woman takes interest in his music. The play has show times on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and a Sunday matinee until March 4.

Ragtime the Musical, The Noel Ruiz Theatre at CMPAC – From now until March 23, Ragtime the Musical will be gracing the stage of the Noel S. Ruiz Theatre at CMPAC in Oakdale, just a short drive from the New Village. Ragtime is a compelling epic that tells the emotional stories of three socioeconomic groups during the turn of the 20th century. Tickets are available for a number of nightly performances on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as a Sunday matinee.

Working the Musical, Theatre Three Productions – Based on Studs Terkel’s best-selling book of interviews with American workers, the six time Tony-nominated “Working” portrays a vivid portrait of the men and women of that world that are sometimes taken for granted. Checkout the musical at Theatre Three Productions in Port Jefferson, which will have multiple weekly show times through March 24.
