Sheperd’s Pie at Cavanaugh’s – If you’d like to enjoy a brew with your comfort food, Cavanaugh’s is your destination. Known in the area as a favorite neighborhood restaurant and pub, Cavanaugh’s serves up great drinks and surprisingly delicious food for a pub. If you’re stopping by for a bite, you can try one of the many offerings on the menu, such as steak dinners, chicken, stir-fry, but one of the best things you can order is the homemade Shepherd’s Pie. The dish combines ground beef, mixed vegetables, brown gravy, and mash potatoes in a delicious package!  

Chicken Pot Pie at South Country Tavern – If you’re craving comfort food but not quite sure what you’re in the mood for, head over to South Country Tavern in East Patchogue. Located on South Country Road, South Country Tavern offers all types of comfort food: French Onion Soup, Grilled Cheese with a wide variety of cheeses, meat load, and lobster mac and cheese. However, perhaps the most revered dish at the tavern is their delicious Chicken Pot Pie, made with fresh white meat chicken, mixed vegetables, potatoes, and a velvety cream sauce topped with butter puff pastry.
