Though we may have been blessed with a few beautiful spring
days, there’s no doubt that there will be some rainy days ahead (it is April
after all). Should the rain come over a weekend, it doesn’t mean you have to
stay in at New Village. There are plenty of fun indoor activities in the
greater Patchogue area to take advantage of.
Rock Climbing at
Island Rock- Get some exercise while also having fun Island Rock, a rock
climbing facility located in the Plainview. Whether you’re new to climbing or
an experienced climber looking for a new place to train, Island Rock has plenty
of offerings for all experience levels. With over 100+ routes including walls,
a rappel tower, crack climbs, and a bouldering cave, you can take a belay
course to learn how to work the climbing ropes or boulder, which means to climb
without any ropes (distance up to 12 ft. high).
Ice Skating at The
Rinx- If you didn’t get the chance to go ice skating during the winter,
come visit The Rinx, which offers indoor ice skating all year round. This
season enjoy ice skating session Monday-Friday 12:30pm-2:30pm and
4:00pm-5:45pm, Friday night 8:15pm-10:15pm, and Saturday and Sunday
11:00am-3:00pm. If you don’t have skates, no problem! Skate rentals cost just
$6.
Bowl Long Island-
Located right on West Ave. in Patchogue, Bowl Long Island offers a classic
bowling at an affordable price. Starting at $5 per person for game, you can
bowl from 12pm noon to 12am midnight Monday-Thursday, and from 12pm-1am on
Fridays and Saturday. If you’re bowling with a large group, you can also rent
the lane by hour, rather than by person. Shoe rentals are $4.50 per pair.
