Winter Weekend Getaways a Car Ride Away from Patchogue

If this winter weather has you feeling a little stir-crazy, maybe it’s time for you to take a little winter vacation. Long Island is beautiful year-round, but it can be nice to get away from the city and leave the Island for a few days after the busy holidays. Take off of work on a Friday or Monday (or both) to enjoy an extended weekend at one of these great destinations that are just a car ride away from Patchogue.

Hudson Valley, NY

For a quick weekend getaway, consider checking out one of the quaint, historic towns along New York’s Hudson River, many of which are less than two and a half hours away from Patchogue. Take part in some winter hiking at Bear Mountain State Park, or strap on some skis to cross-country ski on tails along the Hudson. Travel a little further north up the river to explore the town of Cold Spring, and get some R&R at one of the many bed and breakfasts in the local area.

Sugarbush, VT

If you’re big on winter sports, than you have to check out the ski and snowboard scene in Vermont. But rather than checking out Killington or Mt. Snow, Vermont’s more popular mountains, consider visiting Sugarbush Resort, located in the picturesque town of Warren. Even if you’re not into the slopes, Warren has plenty of local eats and wintery scenery to explore. The town also has a rich history, with the Warren Country Store dating back to 1839 with classic Colonial décor.

Lenox, MA

If winter sports aren’t exactly your thing, head to Lenox, MA for the perfect spa getaway in the Berkshires.
